Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music
August 5-August 14
Cabrillo Festival has become the place where the orchestra demonstrates its full power of transformation, where the gathering of talent, the urgency of music, and the uniting of eager listeners make an unassailable argument for the art form. Now, with two decades of rock-solid foundation under Music Director Marin Alsop’s feet, anything is possible—and it’s just the beginning! This season offers nine West Coast Premieres, two U.S. Premieres, and seven World Premieres, written in honor of the Maestra. We will welcome more composers-in residence than at any other time in our history—fifteen in all. Guest artists will include pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, guitarist D.J. Sparr, horn player Kristin Jurkscheit of the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, and Scott Simon of National Public Radio for a special anniversary event. There is no place like Cabrillo for a creative gathering like this one. As Marin prepares with more vigor and brilliance than ever for her 20th season, the Cabrillo Festival’s 49th year promises a celebration worthy of the occasion!Single tickets go on sale Tuesday, June 14 at Noon. Please review General Event Policies for exclusions.
Wheelchair Accessible and Accessible Companion seats are available in all price zones in the orchestra floor seating. Tickets are subject to service charge which is included in the Grand Total in the Shopping Cart (after seats are selected).
